Welcome to the Stoughton Police Department web site. We are working hard to make this a useful resource for information about who we are and what we do. This site will be continually updated and enhanced as we move forward and is designed for you the residents.
In order for us to succeed, we need your feedback. Please tell us what is working and what isn’t, so that we may continue to make this a tool for you. We are also excited to recommend our facebook page “Stoughton Ma. Police Department.” This page will be updated regularly with departmental activities. Please join and follow along with these current events as we update and refresh its contents frequently. We are sure you will be pleased.
The Police Department is under the direction of Chief Paul J. Shastany, and consists of 47 full time sworn police officers providing 24 hour-a-day services. We believe that the cornerstone of professional service is built on continual training and will ensure that our officers are up to speed on all current law changes and trends in twenty first century policing.
The members of this department urge you to become involved in your community. No police department can effectively reduce crime without the cooperation of its residents. Throughout the year our officers conduct many seminars, presentations and other community outreach programs. These pro-active strategies directly benefit our residents, visitors, and businesses by creating an awareness of crime prevention tactics and safety issues in Stoughton. We ask everyone to join us in reducing the incidents of crime in Stoughton by adopting the credo, “If you see something, say something.” We are committed to making Stoughton a safe and healthy community to live, work, and play in. Come and join us as partners to create a safer Stoughton.
