Mission Statement:
The purpose of the Stoughton Council on Aging is to develop programs and provide necessary services to Stoughton Seniors aged sixty and older and the disabled.
Our primary responsibilities are:
- To identify the needs of the community’s senior population and the resources available to meet those needs.
- To design, promote and implement needed services and programs to coordinate with existing services.
- To educate the community as to the needs of its senior citizens.
Yellow Dot
The Norfolk County Sheriff's Office and the Stoughton TRIAD have brought the Yellow Dot Program to the Town of Stoughton. This is a national program, which currently operates in 8 states. The program participants receive a Yellow Dot Decal; this is placed on the rear window of their car to alert the responders to the critical information packet in the glove compartment.
My Senior Center Identification Card
This program allows seniors, using a keychain tag, to access a touch screen menu where they are greeted by name, receive messages, sign in for programs, and view future events. For the senior center staff, the system tracks program participation, enabling them to manage and evaluate the activities provided, while significantly reducing paperwork. Keeping track of these numbers enables the COA to receive funding each year. It’s important and so easy to use! By swiping your identification card you will be eligible for a monthly drawing. Please stop by the COA office to sign up. Drawings will be for gift certificates, exercise passes, transportation tickets, etc. Get one today! Seniors from other towns are welcome to get a My Senior Center Card too. The more the
merrier! For more information about My Senior Center you can go on their website www.myseniorcenter.com.
